Narrative:
I was going to sky airport for fuel about 4 mi to the south of the airport. The right tank was very low, so I switched to my left tank. The engine began to sputter. I had no power and was in altitude for pattern entry to sky airport, so I picked a field and performed a forced landing. No damage to the airplane and no injuries were sustained. There was fuel left in the left tank after the state patrol told me that FAA was not holding the airplane. I started it up and taxied 1000 ft or so out to the road to refuel enough to take off.

Title: PVT PLT OF AN SEL SMA WAS FORCED TO LAND OFF ARPT WHEN THE ENG QUIT DUE TO FUEL STARVATION. THERE WAS NO ACFT DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURIES.
Narrative: I WAS GOING TO SKY ARPT FOR FUEL ABOUT 4 MI TO THE S OF THE ARPT. THE R TANK WAS VERY LOW, SO I SWITCHED TO MY L TANK. THE ENG BEGAN TO SPUTTER. I HAD NO PWR AND WAS IN ALT FOR PATTERN ENTRY TO SKY ARPT, SO I PICKED A FIELD AND PERFORMED A FORCED LNDG. NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THERE WAS FUEL LEFT IN THE L TANK AFTER THE STATE PATROL TOLD ME THAT FAA WAS NOT HOLDING THE AIRPLANE. I STARTED IT UP AND TAXIED 1000 FT OR SO OUT TO THE ROAD TO REFUEL ENOUGH TO TAKE OFF.
