Narrative:

Sunday afternoon XY35 at dab runway 7L intersection N4, I was ready for departure in a C172 cutlass. I had the clearance to take off. I taxied the airplane on the runway and aligned the airplane on the centerline, applied full power. After a few seconds, I had intense vibration on the nosewheel. (Hard to keep the airplane on the centerline.) I thought I had a flat tire, so I brought back the throttle (power to idle) and kept the nose up to avoid further damage to the nosewheel, then nosewheel came down itself and the propeller hit the runway at about 25 KTS. At the same time, I brought back the mixture and secured the engine. During that time I couldn't keep the directional control, so I was on far left side of the centerline. I looked at the airplane from the outside -- the nosewheel wasn't there. During the takeoff roll, the nosewheel came off. Nuts and cotter pins were in proper position during preflight.
