Narrative:
Last page of the logbook had only 'no items' entries -- about 6 of them. Previous page still had a green sheet with 1 tray table write-up that I thought had been crew placarded in an information-to-maintenance entry below it. After arriving at ord, when signing off the logbook with no items, I looked more carefully at the previous page. It was not a crew placard, but just an information that said tray table is svcable. I called ord maintenance on the phone and then showed the mechanic the signoff. He said that it was not a legal signoff and then after he looked at the actual tray table, he said that it was still broken. From now on, an extra green sheet in the logbook will be an extra alert to me. We had a full flight, so someone did situation in that seat.
