Narrative:
Proceeded nne VFR from nash field 4 mi south of indianola, ia, intending to fly to area east of des moines and then proceed west to land at des moines. Visibility at indianola was 4 mi and pilotage difficult. When I realized I might be under the outer portion of the outer ring of dsm class C airspace southeast of dsm airport, I promptly turned right to the east and descended. At this point I may have been over 2200 ft MSL (the outer ring floor) by 100 ft or 200 ft. While east of des moines, I was at +/-1500 ft MSL and was cleared to proceed westerly to des moines for landing. I was vectored wnw, then south and turned southeast on final for runway 13L. Upon approaching the inner portion of the class C airspace at 1500 ft MSL, I was advised that I was under SVFR, which was acceptable to me, although I should have but did not request it.

Title: PLT OF CHRISTEN EAGLE II FLYING VFR ENCOUNTERS DETERIORATING WX AND ENTERS CLASS C WITHOUT CLRNC. THEN ISSUED SVFR.
Narrative: PROCEEDED NNE VFR FROM NASH FIELD 4 MI S OF INDIANOLA, IA, INTENDING TO FLY TO AREA E OF DES MOINES AND THEN PROCEED W TO LAND AT DES MOINES. VISIBILITY AT INDIANOLA WAS 4 MI AND PILOTAGE DIFFICULT. WHEN I REALIZED I MIGHT BE UNDER THE OUTER PORTION OF THE OUTER RING OF DSM CLASS C AIRSPACE SE OF DSM ARPT, I PROMPTLY TURNED R TO THE E AND DSNDED. AT THIS POINT I MAY HAVE BEEN OVER 2200 FT MSL (THE OUTER RING FLOOR) BY 100 FT OR 200 FT. WHILE E OF DES MOINES, I WAS AT +/-1500 FT MSL AND WAS CLRED TO PROCEED WESTERLY TO DES MOINES FOR LNDG. I WAS VECTORED WNW, THEN S AND TURNED SE ON FINAL FOR RWY 13L. UPON APCHING THE INNER PORTION OF THE CLASS C AIRSPACE AT 1500 FT MSL, I WAS ADVISED THAT I WAS UNDER SVFR, WHICH WAS ACCEPTABLE TO ME, ALTHOUGH I SHOULD HAVE BUT DID NOT REQUEST IT.
