DC10 autoplt failed en route to lew, divert to bos. After fuel dump was completed, I was distraction, causing premature descent from 10000 ft to approximately 9500 ft.

Narrative: DC10 AUTOPLT FAILED ENRTE TO LEW, DIVERT TO BOS. AFTER FUEL DUMP WAS COMPLETED, I WAS DISTR, CAUSING PREMATURE DSCNT FROM 10000 FT TO APPROX 9500 FT.
