Narrative:
While VFR en route from chs to 34A at 3200 ft MSL, we left ZDC for WX. Finding our destination well below minimums, we informed center that we were diverting to dan. Center advised dan WX as 12 mi with high ceiling. In last few mi to dan, visibility dropped to 3 mi. We informed center dan in sight, went to advisory frequency for active runway and landed. After landing, I realized that the field could have been IFR. The beacon was not rotating and FBO owner assured me that the field had not been IFR when I landed. Being in contact with center and receiving good WX report caused me to discount the rapidly changing WX. In the future, I will leave any advisory service earlier and contact the airport for their latest conditions.

BEING IN CONTACT WITH CTR AND RECEIVING GOOD WX RPT CAUSED ME TO DISCOUNT THE RAPIDLY CHANGING WX.
