Narrative:

I am a newly certificated CFI and was instructing a primary student. During 'timed turns' with attitude indicator and directional gyro covered, situational awareness was temporarily lost and we entered arb class D airspace without a clearance. Upon realizing this, I immediately contacted arb tower and admitted our error. Controller acknowledged call and told us to be careful next time. As a new CFI, I found myself so involved in teaching I lost position awareness. I must be conscious of splitting time between instruction and other considerations.
