Narrative:
En route from cae to sav checking navaids, I ended up about 10-12 mi left of course when tuning in sav to ssi. Corrected the deviation and proceeded to brunswick (ssi). I noted changing and conflicting information on #1 and #2 obs indicators and then conflict with GPS. I tried to go to ssi and hold, but had 2 different readings. I contacted jax. They wondered what the problem was. I finally turned off #2 and used HSI. GPS oriented to course and in the confusion, busted altitude 1800 ft to 1600 ft. Corrected this -- mostly used ADF and flew approach. I was over ssi airport, canceled IFR, broke out and landed. I thought I had some bizarre radio/obs problem, but when I was on the ground a comanche pilot stated he had received changing +/- confusing readings from ssi VOR.

Title: C210 PLT DEVIATED FROM COURSE AND ALT.
Narrative: ENRTE FROM CAE TO SAV CHKING NAVAIDS, I ENDED UP ABOUT 10-12 MI L OF COURSE WHEN TUNING IN SAV TO SSI. CORRECTED THE DEV AND PROCEEDED TO BRUNSWICK (SSI). I NOTED CHANGING AND CONFLICTING INFO ON #1 AND #2 OBS INDICATORS AND THEN CONFLICT WITH GPS. I TRIED TO GO TO SSI AND HOLD, BUT HAD 2 DIFFERENT READINGS. I CONTACTED JAX. THEY WONDERED WHAT THE PROB WAS. I FINALLY TURNED OFF #2 AND USED HSI. GPS ORIENTED TO COURSE AND IN THE CONFUSION, BUSTED ALT 1800 FT TO 1600 FT. CORRECTED THIS -- MOSTLY USED ADF AND FLEW APCH. I WAS OVER SSI ARPT, CANCELED IFR, BROKE OUT AND LANDED. I THOUGHT I HAD SOME BIZARRE RADIO/OBS PROB, BUT WHEN I WAS ON THE GND A COMANCHE PLT STATED HE HAD RECEIVED CHANGING +/- CONFUSING READINGS FROM SSI VOR.
