Narrative:
In preparing aircraft records for an off-lease inspection, determined the second stage rotor was overcycled by 287 cycles. Life limit is 4800 cycles and now it appears there are 5087 cycles. There are many discrepancies in the record keeping while the aircraft was in france, therefore, the actual cycle count is not very clear. I believe there needs to be a better way to keep track of these items, especially when the aircraft goes from country to country. Computerized programs seem to be the best way to follow this. Aircraft was not flown after this discovery. A rental engine was installed to ferry the aircraft to the united states.
