Narrative:
Departing bos for ord, captain's leg, I had set up, briefed and flown the logan 2 departure off of runway 27. At 2000 ft, departure controller cleared us direct to wylyy intersection. Rather than heads down and typing, we requested a heading as we did not have wylyy set up in FMC. When controller asked if we did not have a plate, we responded that we had not been cleared for a wylyy departure. He said that it should be on our ACARS pre clearance data -- and it was. Somehow we had not seen the wylyy 1 departure on the pre clearance. Possibly we had been more concerned with the revised segment portion of the clearance and had overlooked some of the clearance. We asked the controller if we had created a problem, and he said no. I will be more vigilant and careful with ACARS clrncs in the future.

Title: ERRONEOUS INTERP OF ACARS PDC INCREASED FLC AND CTLR WORKLOAD ALONG WITH EXPOSURE TO INFLT CONFLICTS.
Narrative: DEPARTING BOS FOR ORD, CAPT'S LEG, I HAD SET UP, BRIEFED AND FLOWN THE LOGAN 2 DEP OFF OF RWY 27. AT 2000 FT, DEP CTLR CLRED US DIRECT TO WYLYY INTXN. RATHER THAN HEADS DOWN AND TYPING, WE REQUESTED A HDG AS WE DID NOT HAVE WYLYY SET UP IN FMC. WHEN CTLR ASKED IF WE DID NOT HAVE A PLATE, WE RESPONDED THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN CLRED FOR A WYLYY DEP. HE SAID THAT IT SHOULD BE ON OUR ACARS PRE CLRNC DATA -- AND IT WAS. SOMEHOW WE HAD NOT SEEN THE WYLYY 1 DEP ON THE PRE CLRNC. POSSIBLY WE HAD BEEN MORE CONCERNED WITH THE REVISED SEGMENT PORTION OF THE CLRNC AND HAD OVERLOOKED SOME OF THE CLRNC. WE ASKED THE CTLR IF WE HAD CREATED A PROB, AND HE SAID NO. I WILL BE MORE VIGILANT AND CAREFUL WITH ACARS CLRNCS IN THE FUTURE.
