Narrative:

On approach for landing, I was cleaning up aft galley as per my duties. I threw away trash into receptacle with swinging door closed. As I pulled my hand away, my finger caught on what I assumed was metal protrusion on interior of trash receptacle resulting in cut on ring finger of right hand. I was assisted by other crew member to stop bleeding and was met at ewr airport by paramedic crew, police, and the ewr airport manager (due to late hour no mod available). Went to hospital, received sutures, cleaning and tetanus shot.
