Narrative:
Reference logbook page xyzbb items xa and xb. Xa reads fuel quantity display indicated blank on ground in channel B. Xb reads fuel quantity display indicated blank at wing station in channel B. I deferred these items per MEL xx- yz. My problem is I had asked for 2 separate tracking numbers (since there were 2 items). I was told the computer would not issue 2 different numbers using the same reference. I used the same reference and tracking numbers for both items since they were the same system. I believe we should be able to get separate tracking numbers if needed.
