Narrative:
Shortly after the beverage service, one of the flight attendants noticed a smoke smell in the aft inside lavatory on right side of aircraft. The cockpit was called and they monitored situation until it was decided to land in montreal. The smell seemed to be of an electrical nature. We spent 4 hours on ground in montreal while maintenance literally tore the lavatory (and cargo area underneath) apart in pursuit of the problem. None was found. It was then decided to disconnect all electrical to that lavatory. We (coach flight attendants) were asked if we were comfortable with the decision to continue our journey. Although we all said 'no' we soon took off and went to man. Although, the smell was still noticeable after takeoff, it soon dissipated. The aircraft was only on the ground shortly in man, before its return trip to ord.
