Narrative:

Already cleared for takeoff by oma tower, runway 14R. Tower directs our aircraft to abort takeoff. Other aircraft (a DC9) may not have completely cleared the tail of their aircraft from our runway 14R. (They, I believe, were using runway 18/36 to cross runway 14R.) it is believed that they (the DC9) had actually cleared the runway but failed to properly inform oma tower via radio communication that they were truly clear of runway 14R during our takeoff roll. There was no aircraft on the runway. Our B727 was cleared for takeoff by oma tower, then told to abort takeoff due to questionable communications between the DC9 and oma tower.

Title: A B727 FREIGHTER IS DIRECTED TO ABORT THEIR TKOF WHEN THE TWR HAS DIFFICULTY IN CONTACTING A GND HOLDING DC9 WHOSE TAIL MAY HAVE BEEN PROJECTING OVER THE ACTIVE RWY.

Narrative: ALREADY CLRED FOR TKOF BY OMA TWR, RWY 14R. TWR DIRECTS OUR ACFT TO ABORT TKOF. OTHER ACFT (A DC9) MAY NOT HAVE COMPLETELY CLRED THE TAIL OF THEIR ACFT FROM OUR RWY 14R. (THEY, I BELIEVE, WERE USING RWY 18/36 TO CROSS RWY 14R.) IT IS BELIEVED THAT THEY (THE DC9) HAD ACTUALLY CLRED THE RWY BUT FAILED TO PROPERLY INFORM OMA TWR VIA RADIO COM THAT THEY WERE TRULY CLR OF RWY 14R DURING OUR TKOF ROLL. THERE WAS NO ACFT ON THE RWY. OUR B727 WAS CLRED FOR TKOF BY OMA TWR, THEN TOLD TO ABORT TKOF DUE TO QUESTIONABLE COMS BTWN THE DC9 AND OMA TWR.
