Narrative:
#2 engine would not start using the #1 ignition system. Engine started normally using the #2 ignition system. Checked MEL. Referenced wrong MEL number. Realized this when I rechked my work en route. On the ground at ewr, I mistakenly referenced the #2 ignition system instead of the malfunctioning #1 ignition system. Notified dispatch and complied with all the items required for an inoperative #1 ignition system.
