Narrative:

Lack of accurate WX reporting stations. Accurate local information not available. Departed home, walby lake, between palmer and wasilla, ak, in good VFR WX on a 2 hour flight. On return, WX deteriorated. I consequently returned home following hwys and a known series of water (from big lake area to walby lake in WX -- snow) with questioned visibility at questionable altitudes. I am familiar with local landmarks and was at no time lost, nor was a safety hazard to others. Had I been aware of the WX in advance, I would have remained at home. The change occurred in-flight between WX reporting stations -- wasilla and almoc.
