Flight crew of a fokker 100 FK10 experienced an in-flight engine failure during climb at FL220 while using engine anti-ice in clouds. After successful single engine divert landing, maintenance found the engine accessory gear box had failed causing the generator to fall off line and the engine driven fuel pump to stop providing fuel to the engine.

Narrative:
During climb at FL220, #2 generator dropped off line. After 2-3 mins, #2 engine surged and eventually went to idle. After another 2 mins, #2 engine shut down. After landing, maintenance found gear box failure -- fuel starvation.
