Narrative:
I was receiving my IOE between iah and lax on the B777. The approach controller slowed us down rather late, so I was 2 dots high on GS, trying to slow down and get it down. The captain (IOE instructor) was too occupied observing my flying, so he forgot to switch to tower and get landing clearance. We noticed the error when we turned off at the high speed taxiway and I handled the radios. We then switched back to tower and he was trying to get a hold of us to cross runway 25R. Nobody ever challenged us about our oversight. I believe the fact that the captain and I were very low time on this new jet contributed to problem. Corrective action: no 2 low time pilots on high tech airplane should never fly together -- no exceptions!
