Narrative:
Departing dca on runway 36. First officer takeoff. Procedure is to fly visually over potomac river to georgetown reservoir (D4.0 dca VOR) then intercept and track dca 328 degree radial until past 10 DME arc. First officer programmed FMS for dca 328 degree radial 4 DME, then direct en route fix. I missed this error (should have been 328 degree radial, 10 DME or more). I was monitoring raw data and observed us passing west of 328 degree radial. Corrected back, but was confused by FMS track. Need to be more vigilant in checking FMS in hand loaded sits.
