Narrative:
I was flying from ssi VOR to omn VOR on V3 at an assigned altitude of 6000 ft. When I was xferred from one daytona approach frequency to another, the controller aid the current altimeter was 30.47. My call sign ends in XXX. I thought it was strange that the altimeter setting changed so much from the previous controller's altimeter setting of 30.17. I read back '30.47, sundowner XXX,' and the controller replied '30.47 beech XXX.' I changed my altimeter and adjusted my altitude to 6000 ft. About 10 mins later, another controller on the same frequency said my altitude assigned was 6000 ft but my mode C indicated 5600 ft and the altimeter setting was 30.17. I replied that I'd been told the altimeter setting was 30.47. After the controller assured me that the altimeter setting was 30.17, I adjusted my altimeter and climbed to 6000 ft. I reported to the controller when I was back at 6000 ft and no more was said about this incident.

Title: AS BE23 PLT TRANSITS DAB APCH CTL AIRSPACE, THE PLT RECEIVES, AND ACKNOWLEDGES, CONFLICTING ALTIMETER SETTINGS WITH POSSIBLE CONFUSION OF CALL SIGN.
Narrative: I WAS FLYING FROM SSI VOR TO OMN VOR ON V3 AT AN ASSIGNED ALT OF 6000 FT. WHEN I WAS XFERRED FROM ONE DAYTONA APCH FREQ TO ANOTHER, THE CTLR AID THE CURRENT ALTIMETER WAS 30.47. MY CALL SIGN ENDS IN XXX. I THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE THAT THE ALTIMETER SETTING CHANGED SO MUCH FROM THE PREVIOUS CTLR'S ALTIMETER SETTING OF 30.17. I READ BACK '30.47, SUNDOWNER XXX,' AND THE CTLR REPLIED '30.47 BEECH XXX.' I CHANGED MY ALTIMETER AND ADJUSTED MY ALT TO 6000 FT. ABOUT 10 MINS LATER, ANOTHER CTLR ON THE SAME FREQ SAID MY ALT ASSIGNED WAS 6000 FT BUT MY MODE C INDICATED 5600 FT AND THE ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.17. I REPLIED THAT I'D BEEN TOLD THE ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.47. AFTER THE CTLR ASSURED ME THAT THE ALTIMETER SETTING WAS 30.17, I ADJUSTED MY ALTIMETER AND CLBED TO 6000 FT. I RPTED TO THE CTLR WHEN I WAS BACK AT 6000 FT AND NO MORE WAS SAID ABOUT THIS INCIDENT.
