Narrative:
On takeoff atl runway 26L, L2 (left service) door open light came on at 80 KTS. Captain initiated abort at approximately 90 KTS. First officer notified tower of abort. So made PA and opened cockpit door. Parked aircraft on parallel taxiway to run procedures and talk to mco/dispatch. So inspected and cycled door. Light extinguished. Commuting off duty air carrier line mechanic also inspected door. Captain elected to attempt another takeoff with concurrence from mco/dispatch after reading and complying with fom X. Captain made PA concerning problem and decision to make another takeoff. Subsequent takeoff revealed no further problems. Mco'ed L2 door open indicator light.

Title: CAPT OF A B727 ABORTED TKOF DUE TO AN OPEN SVC DOOR LIGHT ILLUMINATING DURING TKOF ROLL. DOOR WAS INSPECTED AND RECYCLED BY SO AND FURTHER INSPECTED BY COMPANY MECH. ACFT WAS REDISPATCHED AND SUBSEQUENT TKOF WAS NORMAL WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OBSERVED.
