Narrative:

On a cross country flight from arlington, wa, to tacoma, wa, I became disoriented, and while trying to find my position, may have entered class B airspace. While at lake tapps, I turned towards my destination on the other side of mcchord. I thought I must have drifted south because I didn't see mcchord until they told me I was 8 mi northeast, which may have put me in sea class B airspace -- but I was so frustrated I didn't realize even then where I was, and by then I was heading west over vashon island, then climbed to 4000 ft MSL to see better. At that time I idented tacoma narrows bridge and knew where I was. I made a poor judgement of my position and didn't use all the resources available. My lack of confidence in my ability caused me to freeze and not think straight. I'm going to receive additional instruction and practice to make sure I know where I'm at, at all times.
