Narrative:
Called bdr tower 15 mi north for landing. I was told to report right base for runway 24. I descended to pattern altitude (1500 ft) and called tower with 2 mi right base. Tower said sikorsky airspace active and that I went through it. I have based at bdr for yrs and had never been aware of sikorsky being active or inactive. Since I gave my position to the tower and they had me on radar, I believe they should have said sikorsky was active.
