Narrative:
90 mi northeast of iso VOR, en route from hpn to bct, encountered severe turbulence at FL350. Did not regain control until FL340. I believe I reported 'severe turbulence, descending to FL330' as this was occurring. I did confirm FL330 with center while I was at FL340 prior to descending to FL330. Was handed off to another controller right after this occurrence, reconfirmed FL330 and then received FL310. Had smooth flight after that. Passenger were not hurt just shook up. Same goes for the crew.
