Narrative:
While level at FL330 our flight was given a frequency change from ZME to 128.2. We checked in and told that we were on assigned heading of 075 degrees magnetic and asked if they still wanted us on this heading. ATC said yes and to standby which we did. ATC did not call us until 5 to 8 mins later. When ATC asked us 'where we had been,' our reply was 'right here.' ATC advised they had tried several times to contact us and had to turn traffic 45 degrees to vector around us. We never heard our call sign or the vectors to other aircraft. We stayed level at FL330 and maintained 075 degree heading until given frequency change to 126.67. ZTL flight continued without event. Xmissions to our aircraft had not been received by either pilot.

Title: AN FK100 FLT IS QUESTIONED AS TO WHERE THEY HAD BEEN WHEN CHKING INTO ZTL FROM ZME. CTLR STATES THAT A CONFLICT HAD NEARLY OCCURRED SINCE THEY WERE NOT RESPONDING TO CALLS.
