Narrative:
We departed bakersfield, ca, en route to phoenix, az. The flight plan was bfl.pmd.J65.blh:blhz.phz. About 10 mins into the flight we were given a clearance to go direct palmdale VOR. Not long after receiving this clearance, we had a yellow caution annunciator illuminate, 'cabin duct hot!' being preoccupied with taking care of this small problem, as well as handling the radios and arranging some charts I was trying to stow when all this started. I did not notice that a strong west wind had blown us east of course. ZLA brought this to our attention. I don't know if we encroached on bakersfield MOA or not. But we may have. Anyway, this heavy workload combined with a minimal rest period the night before caused me to be somewhat slow at recognizing our situation. Also, we did not have time to eat breakfast before going to the airport. Both of us were tired. I think that had I been more alert (less tired) I would have been able to deal with these events without any problems. Please call if you would like to discuss this further.
