Narrative:

I was flying the first leg for my upgrade check ride from plattsburgh, ny, to saranac lake, ny. Preflight of the aircraft showed no discrepancies. After landing in saranac lake, I switched with my flight partner, a postflt inspection was completed by the check airmen and I rode in the back of the plane from saranac lake to albany. Upon landing in albany a postflt inspection showed the left engine cowling on the inboard side popped open. At no other time was it noticed the cowling was unlocked. All inspections prior to landing in albany showed the cowling was locked and secured.
