Narrative:
Ground sent us to a runway that we were not planning for and not in use when ATIS and clearance were received. Nighttime, heavy rain, blurry windows. Ground/tower ATC was pushy, rude, unprofessional and very intolerant of existing WX conditions causing our slow and prudent taxi. The controllers at sfo, not all but some, are promoting an accident on the ground with their poor demeanor and impatience. Tower/ground gave us some ambiguous instructions and we had to reference our charts, etc, and be careful. No runway incursions occurred but it's possible we may have not complied with all taxi instructions, but nothing was said by ATC to that regard. Sfo on the ground is inherently extremely dangerous, but this risk is increased by poor WX and visibility. But mostly the controllers are very unprofessional and impatient. They'll eventually intimidate some pilot(south) into an accident causing sits if they are allowed to continue this way.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B737-300 FO RPT ON THE POOR ATTITUDE EXHIBITED BY THE SFO GND CTLR DURING THEIR DIFFICULT TAXI OUT DURING A WET, DARK AND STORMY NIGHT.
Narrative: GND SENT US TO A RWY THAT WE WERE NOT PLANNING FOR AND NOT IN USE WHEN ATIS AND CLRNC WERE RECEIVED. NIGHTTIME, HVY RAIN, BLURRY WINDOWS. GND/TWR ATC WAS PUSHY, RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY INTOLERANT OF EXISTING WX CONDITIONS CAUSING OUR SLOW AND PRUDENT TAXI. THE CTLRS AT SFO, NOT ALL BUT SOME, ARE PROMOTING AN ACCIDENT ON THE GND WITH THEIR POOR DEMEANOR AND IMPATIENCE. TWR/GND GAVE US SOME AMBIGUOUS INSTRUCTIONS AND WE HAD TO REF OUR CHARTS, ETC, AND BE CAREFUL. NO RWY INCURSIONS OCCURRED BUT IT'S POSSIBLE WE MAY HAVE NOT COMPLIED WITH ALL TAXI INSTRUCTIONS, BUT NOTHING WAS SAID BY ATC TO THAT REGARD. SFO ON THE GND IS INHERENTLY EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BUT THIS RISK IS INCREASED BY POOR WX AND VISIBILITY. BUT MOSTLY THE CTLRS ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND IMPATIENT. THEY'LL EVENTUALLY INTIMIDATE SOME PLT(S) INTO AN ACCIDENT CAUSING SITS IF THEY ARE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE THIS WAY.
