Narrative:
While flying the keatn 2 arrival into cle, around tvt VOR, and slowed to 250 KTS, we were given a descent to cross keatn intersection at 10000 ft and 250 KTS. We were level at about FL240. Shortly after we received this clearance, we realized that we would not be able to make the clearance. So the captain advised ATC. The controller instructed us to do the best we could and advise cle approach. The captain then instructed me to make the altitude restr first and then the speed restr.

Title: B737 CREW OVERRIDES SPD RESTR TO MAKE XING ALT DURING DSCNT IN ZOB AIRSPACE.
Narrative: WHILE FLYING THE KEATN 2 ARR INTO CLE, AROUND TVT VOR, AND SLOWED TO 250 KTS, WE WERE GIVEN A DSCNT TO CROSS KEATN INTXN AT 10000 FT AND 250 KTS. WE WERE LEVEL AT ABOUT FL240. SHORTLY AFTER WE RECEIVED THIS CLRNC, WE REALIZED THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE CLRNC. SO THE CAPT ADVISED ATC. THE CTLR INSTRUCTED US TO DO THE BEST WE COULD AND ADVISE CLE APCH. THE CAPT THEN INSTRUCTED ME TO MAKE THE ALT RESTR FIRST AND THEN THE SPD RESTR.
