Narrative:
A uniformed, deadheading crew member was on my aircraft from xx to yy. She was trying to get to yy before XA00, because the flight to zz at XA00. I told her I would do my best. While en route at FL350 over mem, I asked the flight attendant to have the deadheading crew member come to the cockpit. I showed her the line of WX we were going around and once we got past it, we would proceed direct yy. I told her we would be a few mins early and not to worry, she would make her flight. As we got past the WX, the center gave us direct to yy. I had the WX to the south (20-30 mi) as I made my turn. We hit a few bumps from the turbulence coming off the anvil. The seatbelt sign was on so I wasn't concerned. It smoothed out as I thought and so we were headed for smooth and clear skies. The deadheading crew member returned to her seat.
