Narrative:
Air carrier X departed sbn to dtw with airborne holding in progress due to low visibilities and volume. Before air carrier X reached mizar intersection (the holding fix), he declared minimum fuel. Detroit approach and traffic management resequenced other aircraft to accommodate air carrier X. The information on the minimum fuel status was forwarded to the atcscc (command center). The command center called air carrier X company operations and was told air carrier X landed with 3300 pounds of fuel above what is considered the minimum fuel state for that aircraft. I understand the pilot is in command (being a pilot myself) but this situation seems like an 'I'm the only guy in the sky, get outta my way' attitude, which is dangerous and erodes the trust and honesty between ATC and the flying public.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: DTW TRACON CTLR CONCERNED WITH SUBSEQUENT INFO RECEIVED THAT A HOLDING DC9 DECLARED A FUEL EMER, LNDG WITH A RPTED 3300 LBS OF FUEL ABOVE WHAT IS CONSIDERED A MINIMUM FUEL STATE.
Narrative: ACR X DEPARTED SBN TO DTW WITH AIRBORNE HOLDING IN PROGRESS DUE TO LOW VISIBILITIES AND VOLUME. BEFORE ACR X REACHED MIZAR INTXN (THE HOLDING FIX), HE DECLARED MINIMUM FUEL. DETROIT APCH AND TFC MGMNT RESEQUENCED OTHER ACFT TO ACCOMMODATE ACR X. THE INFO ON THE MINIMUM FUEL STATUS WAS FORWARDED TO THE ATCSCC (COMMAND CTR). THE COMMAND CTR CALLED ACR X COMPANY OPS AND WAS TOLD ACR X LANDED WITH 3300 LBS OF FUEL ABOVE WHAT IS CONSIDERED THE MINIMUM FUEL STATE FOR THAT ACFT. I UNDERSTAND THE PLT IS IN COMMAND (BEING A PLT MYSELF) BUT THIS SIT SEEMS LIKE AN 'I'M THE ONLY GUY IN THE SKY, GET OUTTA MY WAY' ATTITUDE, WHICH IS DANGEROUS AND ERODES THE TRUST AND HONESTY BTWN ATC AND THE FLYING PUBLIC.
