Narrative:
Catering truck ran into aircraft on taxi in to gate at mdw. Damaged left wingtip and navigation light assembly. Catering was in too much of a hurry to meet aircraft. This airport is way too crowded with small and large aircraft and service vehicles to operate without an incident.

Title: A B727 IS HIT BY A CATERING TRUCK AS IT TAXIES IN TO THE GATE AT MDW. RPTR CAPT CITES CROWDED CONDITIONS AT MDW AS CONTRIBUTORY TO THE EVENT.
Narrative: CATERING TRUCK RAN INTO ACFT ON TAXI IN TO GATE AT MDW. DAMAGED L WINGTIP AND NAV LIGHT ASSEMBLY. CATERING WAS IN TOO MUCH OF A HURRY TO MEET ACFT. THIS ARPT IS WAY TOO CROWDED WITH SMALL AND LARGE ACFT AND SVC VEHICLES TO OPERATE WITHOUT AN INCIDENT.
