Narrative:
While I was flying ILS approach in denton, declared arrival outbound at pinck IAF first at 3500 ft and started outbound for the ILS approach with procedure turn. Shortly afterwards, second aircraft PIC declared over pinck IAF outbound and reported that he had us in sight and would follow us. We turned outbound 2 mins, completed the procedure outbound. Second aircraft cut us off and executed procedure turn early. We kept visual contact with second aircraft ahead, and due to different airspds, closed the distance between aircraft. We slowed down as much as possible while tracking localizer and GS. Second aircraft deviated left and right and up and down vertically on the approach, with oscillations which probably would have indicated full needle deflection on the instruments. Just before middle marker, we centered on the approach course and passed abeam the second aircraft when he appeared to be in a position to execute a missed approach as he was well left of center and above glide path. We continued uneventfully to land as we notified traffic of our intentions and had visual separation on second aircraft. We received a stream of verbal abuse totally uncalled for and over the CTAF. After landing and taxiing to parking, pilot of second aircraft continued to utter expletives and thereafter bodily harm -- pilot exited the second aircraft, continued his tirade -- both physically and abusively. We tried to diffuse the situation but to little avail.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: RPTING ACFT PASSED SECOND ACFT ON A PRACTICE ILS APCH WHEN IT APPEARED TO BE IN A POS TO EXECUTE A MISSED APCH.
Narrative: WHILE I WAS FLYING ILS APCH IN DENTON, DECLARED ARR OUTBOUND AT PINCK IAF FIRST AT 3500 FT AND STARTED OUTBOUND FOR THE ILS APCH WITH PROC TURN. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS, SECOND ACFT PIC DECLARED OVER PINCK IAF OUTBOUND AND RPTED THAT HE HAD US IN SIGHT AND WOULD FOLLOW US. WE TURNED OUTBOUND 2 MINS, COMPLETED THE PROC OUTBOUND. SECOND ACFT CUT US OFF AND EXECUTED PROC TURN EARLY. WE KEPT VISUAL CONTACT WITH SECOND ACFT AHEAD, AND DUE TO DIFFERENT AIRSPDS, CLOSED THE DISTANCE BTWN ACFT. WE SLOWED DOWN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WHILE TRACKING LOC AND GS. SECOND ACFT DEVIATED L AND R AND UP AND DOWN VERTLY ON THE APCH, WITH OSCILLATIONS WHICH PROBABLY WOULD HAVE INDICATED FULL NEEDLE DEFLECTION ON THE INSTS. JUST BEFORE MIDDLE MARKER, WE CTRED ON THE APCH COURSE AND PASSED ABEAM THE SECOND ACFT WHEN HE APPEARED TO BE IN A POS TO EXECUTE A MISSED APCH AS HE WAS WELL L OF CTR AND ABOVE GLIDE PATH. WE CONTINUED UNEVENTFULLY TO LAND AS WE NOTIFIED TFC OF OUR INTENTIONS AND HAD VISUAL SEPARATION ON SECOND ACFT. WE RECEIVED A STREAM OF VERBAL ABUSE TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR AND OVER THE CTAF. AFTER LNDG AND TAXIING TO PARKING, PLT OF SECOND ACFT CONTINUED TO UTTER EXPLETIVES AND THEREAFTER BODILY HARM -- PLT EXITED THE SECOND ACFT, CONTINUED HIS TIRADE -- BOTH PHYSICALLY AND ABUSIVELY. WE TRIED TO DIFFUSE THE SIT BUT TO LITTLE AVAIL.
