Narrative:
Bos airport, mooney xx told to hold short at taxiway K on parallel taxiway to runway 4L at bos. Ground controller told mooney xx to make right turn onto taxiway west and taxi to runway 4L. (No hold short instructions given.) runway 4L numbers only +/-30 ft from taxiway K. No hold short line observed between taxiway K and runway 4L numbers. At same time as given taxi to runway 4L from taxiway K, ground controller told mooney xx to monitor tower. As mooney xx taxied into position, tower controller told commuter to go around. No separation lost. Tower controller then told mooney xx to taxi off runway 4L and hold short on taxiway. Tower controller told mooney xx to call tower when realizing destination. When tower called, controller told pilot no action, bad instructions, apologetic.
