Narrative:
During cruise from mexico city to san francisco international, #2 engine oil quantity went to zero. #2 engine was shut down. Then, we diverted to cuu. In-flight engine shutdown, qrc for driftdown, and all other appropriate checklists were completed prior to landing, including the overweight landing checklist. The captain and I talked to maintenance and dispatch about the engine problem but did not deal with the overweight landing. Contributing factors for this oversight include but are not limited to: 1) dealing with the more critical issue of repairing the engine. 2) language barriers. 3) diversion. 4) the lack of familiarity with procedures in mexico with respect to telephones/facilities for the passenger, etc. Anyway, after departing cuu and reaching cruise altitude, the captain remembered that we didn't tell maintenance about the overweight landing (as requied in the operations manual). We immediately notified our maintenance personnel via ACARS.

Title: FLC OF AN A320 AIRBUS FAILED TO RPT THEIR OVERWT LNDG TO MAINT FOR AN OVERWT INSPECTION PRIOR TO THE NEXT FLT AFTER DIVERTING TO LAND AFTER MAKING AN INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN.
Narrative: DURING CRUISE FROM MEXICO CITY TO SAN FRANCISCO INTL, #2 ENG OIL QUANTITY WENT TO ZERO. #2 ENG WAS SHUT DOWN. THEN, WE DIVERTED TO CUU. INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN, QRC FOR DRIFTDOWN, AND ALL OTHER APPROPRIATE CHKLISTS WERE COMPLETED PRIOR TO LNDG, INCLUDING THE OVERWT LNDG CHKLIST. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS FOR THIS OVERSIGHT INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1) DEALING WITH THE MORE CRITICAL ISSUE OF REPAIRING THE ENG. 2) LANGUAGE BARRIERS. 3) DIVERSION. 4) THE LACK OF FAMILIARITY WITH PROCS IN MEXICO WITH RESPECT TO TELEPHONES/FACILITIES FOR THE PAX, ETC. ANYWAY, AFTER DEPARTING CUU AND REACHING CRUISE ALT, THE CAPT REMEMBERED THAT WE DIDN'T TELL MAINT ABOUT THE OVERWT LNDG (AS REQUIED IN THE OPS MANUAL). WE IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED OUR MAINT PERSONNEL VIA ACARS.
