Narrative:
Right after takeoff there was a strong odor of something burning, ie, plastic or electric -- mostly in rear of aircraft. All the lavatory bells rang and other chimes connected with smoke related went off. Emergency lights were flashing. We returned immediately to jfk and all passenger left aircraft at gate via jetbridge. The problem had to do with a lavatory circulating fan. Plane was taken OTS.

Narrative: RIGHT AFTER TKOF THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF SOMETHING BURNING, IE, PLASTIC OR ELECTRIC -- MOSTLY IN REAR OF ACFT. ALL THE LAVATORY BELLS RANG AND OTHER CHIMES CONNECTED WITH SMOKE RELATED WENT OFF. EMER LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. WE RETURNED IMMEDIATELY TO JFK AND ALL PAX LEFT ACFT AT GATE VIA JETBRIDGE.
