Narrative:

Flight crew copied and read back 'climb to and maintain FL230.' at FL225, center called and said we appeared to be 500 ft high and to return to FL220. We obliged and returned to FL220. Captain stated we were cleared to FL230. Both crew members clearly heard FL230 from controller and during readback, which also was the correct cruising altitude for our route of flight. No conflict. No request to call ATC on phone upon landing.
