Narrative:

ZLA cleared us mudde arrival to runway 25R, sidestep runway 25L, descend to 12000 ft. When we switched to socal approach, we were cleared direct snrkl, mitts arrival, runway 24R. We didn't now how to spell snrkl, so while copilot was getting charts, I was typing in the mitts arrival to find snrkl. The airplane was continuing towards mudde until we could sort out where to head. We got the airplane towards snrkl to continue on the mitts arrival. The controller then gave us 25 degrees right to intercept ILS runway 24R. We took the heading, were still dialing in frequencys for runway 24R, and I extended runway 24R ILS from denay. The controller then cleared us to maintain 10000 ft at mitts, cleared ILS runway 24R. Mitts is not on the ILS to runway 24R, denay is as far as the chart goes. Mitts is only on the arrival. We had 4 navigation clrncs in 5 mins and couldn't navigation as fast as the controller was talking. We have no idea what altitude we crossed mitts at, since it was already erased from the FMS and we couldn't dial in frequencys fast enough.

Title: RPTR STATED, LAX APCH CTL ISSUED SO MANY CLRNCS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME ON APCH, THAT THEY COULDN'T NAV AS FAST AS THE CTLR WAS TALKING.

Narrative: ZLA CLRED US MUDDE ARR TO RWY 25R, SIDESTEP RWY 25L, DSND TO 12000 FT. WHEN WE SWITCHED TO SOCAL APCH, WE WERE CLRED DIRECT SNRKL, MITTS ARR, RWY 24R. WE DIDN'T NOW HOW TO SPELL SNRKL, SO WHILE COPLT WAS GETTING CHARTS, I WAS TYPING IN THE MITTS ARR TO FIND SNRKL. THE AIRPLANE WAS CONTINUING TOWARDS MUDDE UNTIL WE COULD SORT OUT WHERE TO HEAD. WE GOT THE AIRPLANE TOWARDS SNRKL TO CONTINUE ON THE MITTS ARR. THE CTLR THEN GAVE US 25 DEGS R TO INTERCEPT ILS RWY 24R. WE TOOK THE HDG, WERE STILL DIALING IN FREQS FOR RWY 24R, AND I EXTENDED RWY 24R ILS FROM DENAY. THE CTLR THEN CLRED US TO MAINTAIN 10000 FT AT MITTS, CLRED ILS RWY 24R. MITTS IS NOT ON THE ILS TO RWY 24R, DENAY IS AS FAR AS THE CHART GOES. MITTS IS ONLY ON THE ARR. WE HAD 4 NAV CLRNCS IN 5 MINS AND COULDN'T NAV AS FAST AS THE CTLR WAS TALKING. WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ALT WE CROSSED MITTS AT, SINCE IT WAS ALREADY ERASED FROM THE FMS AND WE COULDN'T DIAL IN FREQS FAST ENOUGH.
