Narrative:

I was VFR at 17500 ft. I recently had a vacuum pump replaced that wasn't working at higher altitudes. I climbed to FL250 to check the new vacuum pump without getting a clearance into controled airspace. At FL250 I saw another aircraft go by at a distance of 3000-5000 ft. Although I was only going into controled airspace for 15 mins, I should not have forgotten to get clearance. I will not make such a mistake again.

Title: A PA46 PLT DELIBERATELY FLEW INTO CLASS A AIRSPACE TO TEST A VACUUM PUMP'S PERFORMANCE AND HAD AN ENCOUNTER WITH ANOTHER ACFT.

Narrative: I WAS VFR AT 17500 FT. I RECENTLY HAD A VACUUM PUMP REPLACED THAT WASN'T WORKING AT HIGHER ALTS. I CLBED TO FL250 TO CHK THE NEW VACUUM PUMP WITHOUT GETTING A CLRNC INTO CTLED AIRSPACE. AT FL250 I SAW ANOTHER ACFT GO BY AT A DISTANCE OF 3000-5000 FT. ALTHOUGH I WAS ONLY GOING INTO CTLED AIRSPACE FOR 15 MINS, I SHOULD NOT HAVE FORGOTTEN TO GET CLRNC. I WILL NOT MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE AGAIN.
