Narrative:
I was dispatched in an aircraft with no automatic pressurization, no manual pressurization, and no avionics extract fan. Aircraft in this confign are not to be flown overwater, if the outflow valves are 'fixed open.' there were no entries made in the maintenance log or, due to the late hour, I missed the entry. I did not realize till later it couldn't be flown overwater if they were fixed open. Dispatch should not dispatch an aircraft overwater in this situation. We were filed over the normal route so I assumed it was ok. The normal route is straight across lake michigan. I will not make that mistake again.
