Narrative:
Copilot failed to remove nose gear downlock pin prior to departure. Maximum gross takeoff was made, nose gear failed to retract. 2 hours were flown to reduce weight to maximum landing weight. Landing was uneventful with emergency equipment standing by. Copilot was distraction during preflight. It was raining, copilot was ill and tired.

Title: BECAUSE PLT FAILED TO REMOVE NOSE GEAR DOWNLOCK PRIOR TO TKOF, NOSE GEAR WOULDN'T RETRACT, NECESSITATING RETURN TO FIELD, WITH EMER GND EQUIP STANDING BY.
Narrative: COPLT FAILED TO REMOVE NOSE GEAR DOWNLOCK PIN PRIOR TO DEP. MAX GROSS TKOF WAS MADE, NOSE GEAR FAILED TO RETRACT. 2 HRS WERE FLOWN TO REDUCE WT TO MAX LNDG WT. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL WITH EMER EQUIP STANDING BY. COPLT WAS DISTR DURING PREFLT. IT WAS RAINING, COPLT WAS ILL AND TIRED.
