Narrative:
ATR42, 39 souls on board. Nearing ord airspace, an intermittent #1 engine low oil pressure alert was generated. A subsequent engine shutdown was performed in response to aircraft operating manual review. An uneventful landing was performed at ord. Maintenance investigation revealed that oil filler cap had not been reinstalled after maintenance performed on overnight airplane.

Title: ATR42 HAD INFLT ENG SHUTDOWN DUE TO THE OIL FILLER APT NOT BEING REPLACED BY MAINT.
Narrative: ATR42, 39 SOULS ON BOARD. NEARING ORD AIRSPACE, AN INTERMITTENT #1 ENG LOW OIL PRESSURE ALERT WAS GENERATED. A SUBSEQUENT ENG SHUTDOWN WAS PERFORMED IN RESPONSE TO ACFT OPERATING MANUAL REVIEW. AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG WAS PERFORMED AT ORD. MAINT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT OIL FILLER CAP HAD NOT BEEN REINSTALLED AFTER MAINT PERFORMED ON OVERNIGHT AIRPLANE.
