Narrative:
My student and I had just departed prc airport when we were level at 10500 ft MSL off the drake (V-12) 259 degree radial 7 DME (wbound) and approximately 500 ft below us (guessing level at 10000 ft) and 1000 ft to the right of us (also wbound), an air carrier Y MD80 crossed beneath us. Myself and another instructor saw the aircraft. I immediately monitored ZAB 128.45 and the aircraft was given eed altimeter setting 10 mins later reporting to abq level at 10000 ft. The aircraft was not in contact with prescott tower. I was able to see the air carrier X markings pretty well.

Title: INSTRUCTOR PLT WITH A PRIMARY STUDENT IN A CESSNA 172 OBSERVED A SUPER MD80 CROSS 500 FT BELOW AND 1000 FT TO THE R OF HIM WHILE IN LEVEL FLT TO THEIR PRACTICE AREA.
Narrative: MY STUDENT AND I HAD JUST DEPARTED PRC ARPT WHEN WE WERE LEVEL AT 10500 FT MSL OFF THE DRAKE (V-12) 259 DEG RADIAL 7 DME (WBOUND) AND APPROX 500 FT BELOW US (GUESSING LEVEL AT 10000 FT) AND 1000 FT TO THE R OF US (ALSO WBOUND), AN ACR Y MD80 CROSSED BENEATH US. MYSELF AND ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR SAW THE ACFT. I IMMEDIATELY MONITORED ZAB 128.45 AND THE ACFT WAS GIVEN EED ALTIMETER SETTING 10 MINS LATER RPTING TO ABQ LEVEL AT 10000 FT. THE ACFT WAS NOT IN CONTACT WITH PRESCOTT TWR. I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE ACR X MARKINGS PRETTY WELL.
