Narrative:
I was preparing the aircraft for the flight. I received the clearance from ATC and I inserted it in the FMS's. The departure instructions were 'dallas 5 SID, txk transition.' I read the textual description of the SID and briefed for departure. When we started taxiing, I briefed him on the SID, telling him that we need to turn to a heading of 100 degrees after departure from runway 13L. Climbing to 2000 ft, I checked in with departure and I was asked what was our heading. When I replied 100 degrees, he asked why and told us to turn to runway heading.
