Narrative:
Approximately 3-5 mins after takeoff, the captain advised me via the interphone (2 chimes, non emergency) that we were going back to position due to loss of oil and pressure in #1 engine. He further stated that he didn't think it would require an evacuate/evacuation, but should it become necessary, he would use the standard signal. He then said we would be landing in 10 mins. I called the rest of the crew and informed them of the captain's information. I then entered the cockpit to inquire if the captain was planning to make a PA or did he want me to. He said he would and did, after which I made a prepare for landing PA instructing passenger to ensure seatbelts were fastened, seat backs/tray tables upright, carry-on luggage secured, etc. Flight attendants did a safety check and we landed without incident. All passenger remained calm.
