Narrative:
I started working on a engineering change order on aircraft xyz ram air inlet door, left side. I followed my engineering change order instruction, and also did the ram air test. I was told that the aft door was not in its tracks, but on top of tracks. The flight from ZZZ to london had to stop in chicago, swap planes, and be brought back to ZZZ. But the work authority/authorized was written as aft seal missing, which I think caused the noise and the plane to stop in chicago. Aircraft was brought back to ZZZ air carrier hangar for repair. On a B777 aft door ram cannot go or fit on top of tracks, will not fit.
