Narrative:
I thought I handed aircraft X off to the next sector, but the inputs didn't take and handoff was not made until aircraft X was in next sector's airspace. My lack of comfort and smooth flow with new dsr equipment was a major factor in this error.

Title: ZOB CTLR DISTR UTILIZING DSR EQUIP, FAILS TO ENSURE AUTOMATED HDOF FUNCTION IS COMPLETED AND ALLOWS A COMMUTER ACFT TO PENETRATE ANOTHER CTLR'S SECTOR.
Narrative: I THOUGHT I HANDED ACFT X OFF TO THE NEXT SECTOR, BUT THE INPUTS DIDN'T TAKE AND HDOF WAS NOT MADE UNTIL ACFT X WAS IN NEXT SECTOR'S AIRSPACE. MY LACK OF COMFORT AND SMOOTH FLOW WITH NEW DSR EQUIP WAS A MAJOR FACTOR IN THIS ERROR.
