Narrative:
2 passenger seated first row of main cabin at bulkhead, exit row seat left side. 2 female passenger were instructed to stow purses (large) under the seat or in an overhead bin. They refused because they said on other flts they had held their purses. The #3 flight attendant asked 2 times, then I (flight attendant #4) came by and asked them to stow bags. I assumed they would comply, then I proceeded through the cabin to make sure bags were stowed and bins closed. The #3 flight attendant saw the women's bags still on their laps, an argument ensued. The #3 flight attendant stowed the bags and informed them they could comply or be removed from the aircraft. The passenger were presented with a passenger misconduct form. The women continued to discuss the incident throughout the flight. Several other passenger were disturbed by the women's behavior, however, there was no further confrontation.
