Narrative:
Aircraft xyz PIREP dd autoplt pitch mode a&B and altitude hold autoplt porpoised. I deferred autoplt elevator mode a&B inoperative per MEL. Then I went to downgrade the low minimum performance status. The low minimum performance status was already downgraded to no CAT ii status, so no new deviation is required, but when I made a maintenance entry to downgrade low minimum performance I noticed the low minimum performance had been downgraded 2 months ago. I called maintenance technician to notify them the low minimum performance placard was beyond the 10 day limit. The technical representative told me that since the ZZZ incident, there is no limit on low minimum performance downgrade. Taking the technical representative for his word, I finished the paperwork and let the aircraft go. Later, after talking the incident over with guys in the shop, I realized I was wrong to let the aircraft leave.
