Narrative:

After being cleared for the ILS runway 1L approach and cleared to land I noticed that the txwys were loaded with aircraft heading for runway 1L and that my destination (FBO) was at the end of runway 1L the runway I requested a long landing for the end of the runway. The controller said that he was unable due to landing aircraft behind me, but I could use runway 31. As I was getting ready to turn mid-field final for runway 31 the controller asked if I intended to go around. I replied no that I was starting my turn for runway 31. After landing the controller stated that he meant that I should land on runway 1L and turn off on runway 31. He had me contact ground and they told me to call the tower. If I didn't concern myself with the traffic behind me and the congestion on the taxiway I wouldn't have had this miscom. No more requests on final.

Title: PLT OF A MOONEY 20E LANDED ON UNAUTH RWY DUE TO MISUNDERSTANDING OF TWR CLRNC TO LAND.

Narrative: AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 1L APCH AND CLRED TO LAND I NOTICED THAT THE TXWYS WERE LOADED WITH ACFT HEADING FOR RWY 1L AND THAT MY DEST (FBO) WAS AT THE END OF RWY 1L THE RWY I REQUESTED A LONG LNDG FOR THE END OF THE RWY. THE CTLR SAID THAT HE WAS UNABLE DUE TO LNDG ACFT BEHIND ME, BUT I COULD USE RWY 31. AS I WAS GETTING READY TO TURN MID-FIELD FINAL FOR RWY 31 THE CTLR ASKED IF I INTENDED TO GAR. I REPLIED NO THAT I WAS STARTING MY TURN FOR RWY 31. AFTER LNDG THE CTLR STATED THAT HE MEANT THAT I SHOULD LAND ON RWY 1L AND TURN OFF ON RWY 31. HE HAD ME CONTACT GND AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE TWR. IF I DIDN'T CONCERN MYSELF WITH THE TFC BEHIND ME AND THE CONGESTION ON THE TXWY I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD THIS MISCOM. NO MORE REQUESTS ON FINAL.
